Puregold Chairman Mr. Lucio L. Co was awarded as the Most Outstanding Manilan by the city government of Manila for his excellence in the field of retailing.

His accomplishments were recognized because of his valuable contribution to the growth and development of the city of Manila.

The conferring of the Outstanding Manilan Award, which is an annual undertaking of the City of Manila, seeks to give recognition to men and women who were born, lived, or studied in the city and whose achievements in their chosen profession or vocation have contributed to the development and promotion of Manila.

The awarding was officiated by Honorable Mayor Alfredo Lim and was held last June 24, 2012 at the Maynila Ballroom of the  Manila Hotel. The awarding was in celebration of the 441^st Manila Day.
